Where the Light Enters

“The wound is the place where the Light enters you.” - Rumi

This has always been one of my favorite quotes. It gives me a sense of hope that when my heart is cracked wide open, the light can begin to show me what needs my attention.

Life will always continue to have its ups and downs. We cannot always know why things happen the way they do. However, we can know that everything is happening to help grow and evolve us into the best versions of who we are. The only caveat is, we must allow and choose to let the cracks reveal our light.

For me, life has cracked my heart open multiple times, exposing the deep wounds that needed to be healed. And the more I met myself where I was, the more I allowed myself to embrace the entirety of my experience, the pain and the joy, the light began to enter.

But it is a choice. And only you can make that decision.

Healing takes place when we decide to confront the darkness within. And I want to be clear, the darkness is not “bad, it is our teacher. We are a beautiful mixture of both light and dark. Everything we have been through in our lives has made us who we are today. The energy we bring to the present moment, to our pain, is what determines our path forward and who we decide to become.

When we can be with the wounds of our heart, we begin to see there is so much light there as well. Both coexist. And when we resist one, we hinder the other from being able to flow easily into our lives.

The beautiful thing is, our wounds are the portal through to lightness, to more freedom, more joy, and more aliveness. The wounds, when allowed, are the greatest catalyst for transformation. Because wounds are energies that have gotten stuck within our bodies and minds and when that energy begins to transmute and release, we create a spaciousness within the body for more of what we desire to take its place.

May this be your reminder that what you are feeling deserves your attention because one day, it will reveal the most radiant version of you.

Breathe into the goodness of all that you are.

And trust your process.

Sending love and light.

And as always, Shar(e)on Lightly.
