The Sacred Connection

With the energy of one year ending and another beginning, I taught my yoga class the other day on this idea or process on how welcoming or inviting in something new, is also an ending of something else. There is a sacred connection in the process of letting go and of welcoming in something new.

In my class I read this passage from The Radiance Sutras:

“Toss aside your map of the world,

All your beliefs and constructs,

Dare the wild unknown.

Here in this terrifying freedom,

Naked before the universe,

Commune with the One

Who knows everything from the inside:

Invisible power pervading everywhere.

Divine presence permeating everything.

Breathe tenderly as

the lover of all beings.”

For me, these words are a beautiful way of saying that we must surrender an old way of being to be able to step into a new way of being. This can feel terrifying at times because we are stepping forward into ways of being that feel foreign to us and push us outside of our norm. But if we continue to follow the divine guidance of the universe, we can surrender the need to know it all at this moment and rather trust that the next best step will be revealed. And as we step into the wild unknown may we invite in a gentle and loving presence.

As we move forward, I believe it is also necessary for us to take moments and pause, to reflect. This allows space for us to integrate the lessons and information to move forward. This allows us to create a future that is more aligned with our hearts. The future unfolds from this present moment and if we have tuned into the internal landscape of our heart and know what we need to let go of and honor, then we are better able to welcome in our true desires.

As we leave 2024 behind us, what are you ready to let go of?

What are you ready to invite in or create more space for?

And who do YOU need to be to invite that in?

My favorite quote lately is “We don’t get what we want, we get what we are.” This is going to be my mantra through 2025 because for me it is a beautiful reminder that if I continue to align with the divine presence and essence of who I am, then I will also be moving forward to the life my heart aligns with.

Remember to honor where you have been, say thank you and then take the next best step from here, and then the next, and the next.

Sending you love along your journey as you enter the new year.

And as always, Shar(e)on Lightly.
